Shepley First School

House Teams

We feel the children benefit from being members of mixed age school teams. It helps develop opportunities for year groups to work together, encourages children to support each other, gives them a strong sense of responsibility and belonging and provides them with a range of additional activities to take part in.

Since 2007 we have had four House Teams in the school. Named after founder members of the school, they span the whole age-range across the school and provide a focus for friendly competition collecting House Points. During each week children try to gain as many House Points as they can, through positive conduct, good work ethic or particular effort in any area of school life. These are totted up at the end of each week and the score announced during a Friday Mention Assembly. At the end of each term the winning House team is awarded a special reward event.
