Shepley First School

Welcome to Class 4W

What a great start to Year 4!

Class 4W have settled in fantastically back into school life.  They have been working extremely hard and they are a pleasure to teach.

In literacy, the children have enjoyed writing their own fables based on the morals used by Aesop fables.  As a result of children’s imagination, creativity and hard work they have produced some lovely work which they should be proud of.

I have also been really impressed by the quality of homework that I have been receiving so far – they have blown me away! It is clear that the children have put lots of time, care and effort into creating their homework!

Well done and keep up all the hard work Class 4W!

Catching speeding motorists with the police!

Class 4W were very excited when the police returned to enlist the children's help in catching the speeding motorists of Shepley.  The children had a great time working with our local police officers when using their special speedometers to catch speeding motorists.

Roman Soldier Fashion Show!

This week in topic, we have been looking at what Roman Soldiers wore. After researching Roman Soldiers outfits and thinking about why they wore these outfits, we worked in groups to create our own Roman Soldier outfits using paper, pens and cellotape.  After constructing the outfits, we marched into the hall and had a Roman Soldier fashion schow - discussing what the children had learnt about what Roman Soldiers wore and why. The children's creativity, design and construction of these outfits was amazing!
